The illustrated disc flight line is based on the manufacturer
field testing results, during its development process. So,
to level the playing field we chose to put a different spin on
things for such visual illustrations. Sticking to the manufacturer's test results will offer you a good baseline for how that
particular disc will fly.
The Innova Champion Beast Disc Golf Distance Driver is an exceptionally versatile distance driver. This mold has helped Disc Golf Hall of Famer and 2X World Champ Barry Schultz in his incredibly storied career. The Beast is perfect for long drives, controlled drives, hyzer flips, and many other shots you need out on the course.
The flight path for the Beast is a slow early turn, with a forward glide and a hyzer out finish at the end. The -2/2 rating for turn and fade don't tell the story of the beast. It doesn't jump out of your hand and turn right away, it's much more gradual turn and a slow fade. When you compare this to other discs like the Katana which seems to turn then flip instantly to fade, the Beast is much more slow with its movements. You can control the speed with a Beast, you don't have to crank on it as hard as you can to get the gentle turn from this disc, the more power you put into it gives it more turn. This gives you a little extra versatility in the discs amount of turn. You can throw the Beast with a forehand or backhand it doesn't matter. It's got a rim that's not too big in the hand.
Champion Plastic is the most durable that Innova offers. It's not going to suffer if you hit a couple of trees at high speeds with it. This is also the most overstable of the plastics offered by Innova. It takes a long time to beat in, but when it does it holds its flight path shape for a long time.
The Innova Champion Beast is great for controlled distance, lower arm speeds, and gliding to where you want it to be. If that's something you'd like in your bag then find a color and a weight you like today!
