The illustrated disc flight line is based on the manufacturer
field testing results, during its development process. So,
to level the playing field we chose to put a different spin on
things for such visual illustrations. Sticking to the manufacturer's test results will offer you a good baseline for how that
particular disc will fly.
The Innova Champion Katana is a disc golf distance driver that is used for maximum distance. It's got an incredibly unique flight path swaying from one side to the other for the biggest and longest S curve you can imagine. Don't be intimidated by the speed, this is a disc that can be thrown by anyone consistently reaching 300 feet.
The flight path of the Katana requires room from side to side to swing as it turns and then hyzers out. When you're asked about the flight characteristics of the Katana people want to know if it's flippy or stable, it turns out that the Katana is both. At higher speed you'll get that early turn like an understable turnover disc, but then it's going to stable up and glide before it fades out. The Katana is a great choice on wide open holes and it's going to add huge distance to your drives. The tradeoff is that it's not as accurate, so you may end up pin high but on one side of the pin. Try the Katana on a hyzer flip line if you're looking for a little more control in your game. Throw it with a little extra nose up so that it has time to get that full flight.
Champion plastic from Innova is a premium blend that's super durable. You're going to need that because you may flip over the Katana into a tree and you want it to keep that same incredible flight for years to come.
Make sure you write your number on the bottom of the Katana in sharpie, because if you're throwing the Katana correctly you're going to get amazing distance. If you play any long distance open courses, the Katana should find a spot in your bag.
