The illustrated disc flight line is based on the manufacturer
field testing results, during its development process. So,
to level the playing field we chose to put a different spin on
things for such visual illustrations. Sticking to the manufacturer's test results will offer you a good baseline for how that
particular disc will fly.
The Innova DX Lion is that midrange that combines the best of both worlds, high glide and high stability. It's got a flat to flatter top, is beaded, and is a mix in distance and stability between the Shark and the Roc, two of Innova's best selling midranges.
The flight path of the Lion is straight with lots of glide for about 75% of the flight. Then it loses speed and begins a slow hyzer that takes a long time to get to ground. The Lion is an excellent choice thrown low when you want something you can put some power into and not worry about it flipping over. When thrown with a bit of height the Lion is excellent at getting around corners and giving you lots of distance. The Lion is designed for players of all skill levels to throw. Beginners will love that high glide and advanced players and pros will love a versatile mid that handles the forehand torque as well as a backhand. When you first start throwing the Lion it's going to be overstable, but it will beat in and season until it's a straight flyer. It feels a little sharper in the hand than your regular midrange, but it has more shots that cut through the wind instead of just gliding on it.
DX Plastic from Innova is their baseline blend. It's extra grippy and when it gets a few nicks and dings in the outer rim that gives you a chance to grip it harder. It's especially great in the rain and cold weather when other discs get slippery.
The DX Lion throws a long straight slight fade hyzer shot well. It's got a thinner rim so even small hands can grab hold of it. If you're looking for something that outthrows the Shark for distance, and holds straight longer than the Roc, you've found your goldilocks disc. It's stable, has a bead, and when thrown hard has a neutral to stable flight. Check out what the Lion can do for your game and snag one now.
